FLO21 Shrink Barrier Films
KREHALON FLO21 films are a multilayer heat shrinkable film designed using innovative proprietary technology. Their structure enables a unique combination of gas and moisture barrier with excellent sealability and machinability. KREHALON FLO21 films help to meet environmental concerns for non-chlorine containing materials and less packaging waste. With its barrier shrink and optical properties FLO21 brings protection as well as glass-like, clear presentation to all of your products.
KREHALON FLO21 films have been developed for use on several types of packaging systems. Firstly on flow wrapping machines for either tray overwrap MAP packages or vacuum packaging. Secondly FLO21 can be used as a lidding material on MAP barrier trays both preformed and thermoformed in line. Thirdly, and uniquely, FLO21 can be used on special thermoforming machinery for either MAP or vacuum packages. KREHALON FLO21 films are designed for the packaging of fresh meat, processed meat, cheese, fish, poultry and game.
Available types
KREHALON FLO21 films are available as a transparent film on reels. FLO21 is available in several types depending on the application and use. These types are as follows:
- FLO21-LD
For lidding of MAP packs on tray sealers or thermoforming machines, film will always be supplied with anti-fog (AF) treatment. - FLO21-OW
For tray overwrap/flow pack systems, film will always be supplied with anti-fog (AF) treatment. - FLO21-VC
For use on flow wrap machines for vacuum packaging i.e. FLOVAC - shrink bag replacement in fresh meats, cheese and processed meats. - FLO21-F3
A modified barrier film for cheese packing and for other products requiring gas release.
Available widths
KREHALON FLO21 films can be slit into single wound films from 100mm to 980mm wide in 5mm increments. FLO21 film is wound on paper cores. Paper cores can be either 76mm or 152mm to suit the packaging machine requirements. Core size needs to be specified when ordering.

Seven thicknesses of films are available as shown below:

NB: Please note all types may not be available in all the above thicknesses or may require minimum extrusion quantities. To prevent damage during shipping, but to limit excessive packaging materials, all KREHALON FLO21 film is packed on overwrapped pallets. The normal sales unit is therefore by pallet quantities. The amount of film per pallet depends on the slit width and is available upon request.
Important notes
Recommended shrink temperature for hot air tunnels is 200°C. For hot water shower or dipping 95°C is recommended. The ideal storage temperature is 20-25°C with an ideal R.H. of 50-60%. Temperature should not exceed 30°C. Avoid direct sunlight and contact with radiators and heating pipes.
